Deities
Cosmic Gods
The Cosmic Gods are ancient creatures that were around long before any written or spoken history. Only they could possibly know what was before their time. The time period in which they arrived has been named The Age of Creation. They are the keepers of the universe, maintaining the very system that is life, death, and existence.

Crowned Gods
The Crowned Gods came about during the Age of Civilization. This was the period of time when mortal creatures made the first civilizations on Argos. Hardly any traces of these first societies are left. Most of their work, knowledge, and history have been lost during the Age of Darkness. Much of what is known from this time has been granted by divine knowledge, although gods provide contradictory information. All of the Crowned Gods are said to be former rulers, leaders, or influential figures of their time.

Starforged Gods
When the Age of Darkness came to an end, the Age of Ascension began. Gods that ascended in this period are called Starforged Gods. These gods have more direct ties with the people of Argos today. The age of Ascension started in year 0 CE, marking the ascension of Elohim, the first of the Starforged Gods to ascend.
Elder Gods
The Elder Gods are unknowable beings that dwell beyond the limits of reality, lurking at the edges of the Dark Tapestry - the void outside the domains of the other Gods. Their presence is barely comprehensible, and their motives remain an enigma even to the Cosmic Gods. Some claim they are ancient remnants of a time before creation, while others believe they are intrusions from a reality beyond mortal understanding. Worship of the Elder Gods is rare and often dangerous, as their influence warps both mind and flesh.

Demigods
Some creatures, that have extraordinary powers, are also considered to be demigods. These creatures can offer their worshipers a similar level of power as regular gods, but the number of people that can be granted these powers sometimes limited. Many of these creatures can be found in the outer realms, such as the abyss, where demon lords of vile powers reside. Some are affiliated with a god, such as the Archdevils of Hell and the Archangels of Haven. Others are independent of other deities, such as the Fey Lords of the Feywild.

Archdevils
The Nine Hells are a meticulously structured hierarchy, each layer serving a unique role in the infernal machine. Though all devils ultimately answer to Asmodeus - The Dark Prince, each layer of Hell is ruled by an Archdevil, whose influence and dominion shape the very nature of their realm. Below them, legions of fiendish bureaucrats, soldiers, and souls toil endlessly, ensuring the infernal order remains unchallenged.
Barbatos
The Gatekeeper of Hell
Layer: 1st Layer - Avernus
Barbatos rules Avernus, a scorched and war-ravaged wasteland that serves as the gateway to Hell. It is here that the souls of the damned first arrive, to be judged and sorted before being dispatched to their destined layers. Barbatos alone decides who may descend deeper into Hell and who is cast back into the mortal realm as a fiendish agent of damnation.
A silent and enigmatic figure, Barbatos rarely speaks, preferring to observe and enforce. Unlike his peers, he does not seek luxury or personal gain - his sole purpose is to ensure that the infernal process remains uninterrupted. It is said that he communes with forces even older than Asmodeus, and that his knowledge of Hell’s origin is a secret that not even the Dark Prince dares to challenge.
Dispater
The Iron Duke, Warden of Hell’s Soldiers
Layer: 2nd Layer - Dis
Dispater rules Dis, the impenetrable iron city where Hell’s armies are forged and trained. A bastion of order and control, Dis serves as Hell’s military center, providing soldiers, enforcers, and executioners to the layers below. Every fiend that wages war on behalf of Hell has, at some point, passed through Dispater’s ranks.
From within the Iron Citadel, a fortress so heavily fortified that no attack has ever breached its gates, Dispater watches over his dominion. His word is law, his knowledge absolute. His paranoia is legendary - every whisper, every movement within Dis is recorded, ensuring no treachery goes unnoticed. To serve him is to accept that every action is observed, every secret is known, and every failure is punished.
Mammon
The King of Avarice, Master of the Infernal Treasury
Layer: 3rd Layer - Erebus
Beneath the streets of Dis, Erebus festers - a vast network of tunnels, vaults, and sewers that serve as the Infernal Treasury, where every coin, contract, and debt is meticulously recorded. Erebus is the beating heart of Hell’s economy, and Mammon, its master, controls every aspect of its wealth.
Known as Hell’s Accountant, Mammon does not hoard gold out of greed - he hoards it for control. Every infernal soldier's armor, every warlord’s bribe, every coin minted in Hell passes through his hands. He dictates who receives, who pays, and who remains eternally indebted. To owe Mammon is to never be free, for his contracts extend beyond life, beyond death, into eternity itself.
Belial
The Crimson Duke, Forgemaster of Hell
Layer: 4th Layer - Phlegethon
Phlegethon is Hell’s forge, an industrial nightmare of endless fire and hammering metal, where weapons, infernal coins, and even devils themselves are shaped and reforged. It is the soul of Hell’s war machine, where the tools of conquest are crafted from the suffering of the damned.
At its heart stands Belial, the Crimson Duke, Hell’s Forgemaster, a fiend whose mastery of metallurgy and enchantment is unmatched. Once a creature of indulgence and vice, he has now become a being of pure discipline and creation. Every blade he forges, every set of armor he crafts, is a masterpiece of war and subjugation. To strike a deal with Belial is to become a tool in his unending work, reshaped as he sees fit.
Geryon
The Bestial Tyrant, Keeper of the Infernal Library
Layer: 5th Layer - Stygia
Stygia is a realm of tangled swamps, rotting temples, and half-submerged ruins, a land where secrets decay beneath layers of muck. Hidden within this desolation is the Infernal Library, a vault of forbidden knowledge, ancient contracts, and records that not even Asmodeus wishes to be revealed.
Geryon, once a scholar of great intellect, has become something monstrous. His twisted, bestial form reflects his insatiable hunger for knowledge and dominion. He is Hell’s Librarian, and the price for his wisdom is submission. To enter his library is to risk becoming one of its books - a mind stripped of will, bound in eternal servitude, knowledge preserved but self lost.
Moloch
The Ashen Tyrant, General of Hell’s Armies
Layer: 6th Layer - Malebolge
Malebolge is a smoldering battlefield, a place of unending drills, skirmishes, and the eternal mustering of Hell’s forces. It is the training ground of infernal legions, where soldiers are broken and rebuilt into perfect instruments of war.
At the head of this vast army stands Moloch, Hell’s General, a warlord of unparalleled tactical brilliance. Once, he was stripped of his power for his overreach, but rather than rebel, he proved his loyalty through submission, reforging himself into Asmodeus’ most unbreakable servant. He leads not with ambition, but with absolute discipline, ensuring that Hell’s armies remain unstoppable, unwavering, and eternally prepared for war.
Baalzebul
The Lord of Lies, Weaver of Deception
Layer: 7th Layer - Cocytus
Cocytus is a frozen wasteland of silent suffering, where liars, betrayers, and the faithless are trapped in endless stagnation. Unlike the other layers, Cocytus does not burn - it freezes, it isolates, it suffocates.
Baalzebul, Hell’s greatest deceiver, is the master of this realm. Once the most eloquent and radiant of devils, his fall was so profound that even he no longer knows what is truth and what is illusion. He is a master manipulator, a weaver of half-truths, who ensures that those who enter his domain lose all sense of certainty, trust, and reality itself. His loyalty to Asmodeus is absolute, for there is no greater lie than the illusion of rebellion.
Mephistopheles
The Crimson Scholar, Asmodeus’ Right Hand
Layer: 8th Layer - Caina
Caina is a land of iron, torture, and unrelenting darkness, where steel cages hang above a bottomless abyss that whispers and writhes with unspeakable horrors. Here, souls are broken and reshaped, their suffering refined into absolute servitude.
Overseeing this iron nightmare is Mephistopheles, Hell’s greatest sorcerer and Asmodeus’ most trusted advisor. While other Archdevils vie for position, he remains the only one whom Asmodeus truly confides in. Mephistopheles does not seek war like Moloch or wealth like Mammon - he seeks absolute knowledge, ensuring that Hell’s dominion is perfected in both mind and reality. His loyalty to Asmodeus is unquestionable, for he knows that to defy the Dark Prince is to embrace oblivion.

Demon Lords
The Abyss is an infinite, ever-shifting plane of chaos and madness, a realm where no true hierarchy can exist for long. Unlike the rigid structure of Hell, where every devil knows its place under Asmodeus, the Abyss is a pit of destruction, ruled only by the strongest, most cunning, or most brutal.
Each Demon Lord is a being of immense power, controlling a single layer or a collection of layers within the Abyss. Their rule is not absolute - rival demon lords, ambitious lieutenants, and even their own creations constantly threaten their dominion. Yet, through sheer force, fear, or trickery, these rulers hold their thrones, shaping the warped reality of their chaotic realms.
Baphomet
Lord of the Labyrinth
Lamashtu
Mother of Monsters
Layer: Unknown
Lamashtu is the mother of all that is twisted and unnatural, a goddess of madness, mutation, and monstrous birth. Where she treads, flesh warps, minds shatter, and order crumbles. She despises structure and purity, seeking to corrupt all living things, twisting them into grotesque, hungry, and insatiable abominations.
Her influence stretches beyond the Abyss, seeping into the dreams of the mad, whispering promises of power to those willing to sacrifice their own humanity. Her followers are cultists who abandon their mortal forms, embracing monstrous transformation in her name. Every beast born of nightmares, every horror lurking in the dark, owes its existence to Lamashtu’s tainted womb.
Lolth
Quen of the Demonweb Pits
Layer: Demonweb Pits (Lolth's Web)
Orcus
Lord of the Undead
Layer: The Black Sepulcher
Orcus is the undisputed lord of undeath, a grotesque, corpulent tyrant who abhors the cycle of life and death and seeks to replace all existence with eternal stagnation. He does not crave destruction for destruction’s sake - he desires permanence, a reality where nothing grows, nothing changes, and nothing ever truly dies.
From his throne in The Black Sepulcher, a cold, deathless abyss of rotting mausoleums and crumbling crypts, Orcus presides over countless legions of undead, each mindlessly bound to his will. Within his realm, souls are stripped of their will and shackled to an unending existence, their former lives eroded until only empty, obedient husks remain.
Unlike other Demon Lords who revel in chaos, Orcus is slow, patient, and relentless. His cultists - necromancers, liches, and those who fear death above all else - serve him willingly, though none are ever truly his allies. To devote oneself to Orcus is to be consumed, to become yet another unthinking instrument of his endless march toward stillness.
The mere whisper of his name is enough to chill the soul, for where Orcus treads, life unravels, leaving only the cold, unbroken silence of a world that will never breathe again.
Zikkan
The Crimson Corsair
Layer: The Drowning Deep
Zikkan, known as The Crimson Corsair, is the undisputed master of demonic piracy, ruling over The Drowning Deep, a realm of endless bloodstained seas, sunken ruins, and ghostly shipwrecks. His Abyssal fleet scours the planar seas, plundering everything from mortal trade routes to divine realms.
Wherever the waves turn red and the sky darkens with storm, Zikkan’s fleet is near. He takes what he wants - treasures, souls, entire ships, even the bones of the gods themselves - and drags them into the Abyss, where they become part of his cursed horde.
His followers are cutthroats, marauders, and exiled captains, drawn by promises of eternal plunder and the thrill of the hunt. Those who betray him are fed to the abyssal depths, where they rise again as spectral horrors, doomed to serve as part of his ghostly crew for all eternity.
Zikkan is not content with ruling his layer - he hungers for dominion over all planar waters, seeking to drown entire worlds in his tide of blood and madness.
Dread Lords
The Shadowfell is a place of eternal dusk, where echoes of the past and twisted nightmares shape reality. It is neither entirely dead nor truly alive, a realm of loss, despair, and forgotten dreams. Unlike the Abyss or the Hells, the Shadowfell has no singular ruler - instead, it is fractured, its power split among the Dread Lords, beings of unfathomable sorrow, ambition, and horror.
Each Dread Lord rules not just through might but through fear, legend, and the weight of the past. Some claim castles of eternal darkness, others roam as living curses upon the land. But all are bound to the Shadowfell, shaped by its sorrow, unable to escape the burdens that made them what they are.
Tiran
The Shadow Sovereign
Sorin
Morvain
Varkos
Vasarael
The Ashen King
Demiplane. The Roads of Regret
Vasarael is a name spoken in hushed tones across the Shadowfell, a wandering sovereign of unseen dominion. Unlike other Dread Lords who claim castles, citadels, or endless nightmares, Vasarael has no throne, no fortress - only the roads he walks.
He appears as a courteous, well-spoken trader, always arriving precisely when he is needed, carrying exactly what the buyer seeks. To those desperate enough to strike a bargain, he is a savior, a benefactor, a solution to an impossible problem. But Vasarael never asks for gold or riches - his price is far more insidious. He deals in promises, secrets, and memories, extracting that which cannot be bought, only given.
Many believe he is nothing more than a legend, a traveler’s tale whispered by those who have seen too much of the Shadowfell. But for those who owe him, he is real - and his debtors know that his contracts are eternal. To break a pact with the Ashen King is to invite a fate far worse than death.
Where Vasarael truly calls home, none can say. His domain is not marked by walls or banners, but by the fear of those who cannot escape what they owe. The weight of his bargains lingers in every shadow, in every whispered regret, a quiet reminder that some debts can never be repaid.
- Vasarael -The Ashen King
- Name meaning, Vasar (market or trader)
- Once a powerful king during the age of darkness
- His kingdom crumbled in war and ruin, swallowed whole into the shadowfell, warping him into something beyond mortal and undead. He became a hunger of patience, feeding on echoes of promises unfufilled, debts unpaid, and regrets
- He does not covet the Throne of Nightmares, nor the Black Castle, rather he walks the land in the guise of a mortal form. He travels from place to place, making deals. His kingdom now lies in the pacts he makes, the fear of those that owe him, the price they can never fully pay.
- He often appears as a courteous well-spoken trader, always carrying exactly what the buyer seeks.
- He deals in promises, secrets and memories, he rarely if ever takes gold as payment
Empyreal Lords
Archons serving and ruling various parts of Heaven.

Fey Lords
The Fey Lords are the ancient and powerful demi-gods of the Feywild, the vibrant, chaotic, and often perilous plane also known as the First World. They are not gods who ascended or were created, but are instead the oldest, most magically potent, and cunning of the fey. Through millennia of accumulating personal power, weaving intricate webs of alliances and rivalries, and mastering the fundamental magic of their plane, they have raised themselves to a status of near-divinity. They are the apex of fey society: the kings, queens, and solitary tyrants who have carved out kingdoms from the very fabric of raw creation.

Great Old Ones
The Great Old Ones are the twisted, unfathomable servants of the Elder Gods, beings of such vast and alien power that even the mightiest deities fear their influence. Unlike the Elder Gods, who exist beyond time and reason, the Great Old Ones are active forces of corruption, their very presence capable of warping reality, unraveling minds, and reshaping entire planes into twisted reflections of their unknowable will.
Hadar
The Dark Hunger
Domain: The Devouring Void
Hadar is not a god, nor a demon, nor a being of flesh - it is a star that should have long since died, yet still writhes, still feeds, still hungers. It drifts through the void, consuming all light that dares shine too close. Planets vanish into its gaping maw, and even the stars themselves grow dim in its presence.
It does not speak, it does not bargain - it only devours. Its influence spreads through those who dream of endless hunger, through warlocks who seek to consume the strength of others, and through cultists who wish to bring the universe into Hadar’s eternal darkness. Where Hadar’s shadow falls, nothing is left - only silence, only cold, only the endless hunger of a dying star that will never be satisfied.
Hastur
The King in Yellow
Domain: Carcosa
Hastur is the name spoken in madness, the figure glimpsed at the edge of vision, the horror that takes shape when the mind unravels. He is both monarch and prisoner of Carcosa, a realm of shifting landscapes, endless masquerades, and whispered secrets too terrible to comprehend.
To gaze upon Hastur is to lose oneself - not in death, but in a slow, inevitable dissolution of identity. His influence seeps into the mortal world through forbidden plays, cryptic symbols, and maddening whispers that take root in the minds of those who are too curious, too ambitious, too desperate for knowledge beyond their comprehension.
His cult does not grow through worship but through infection - each utterance of his name, each glimpse of his symbol, spreads his influence. Those who truly understand him cease to be themselves, becoming something else, something unknowable, something more.
Umr At-Tawil
Caretaker of Stethelos
Domain: Stethelos (Dimension of Time)
Umr At-Tawil is the keeper of secrets, the veiled figure who stands at the gates of impossible knowledge. He is a guide, the final threshold between mortal understanding and the infinite. He watches over Stethelos, the Nameless City, a place that exists between moments, between realities, where the truths of the cosmos are laid bare. Those who seek forbidden knowledge, who push beyond the boundaries of mortal comprehension, will eventually find themselves before Umr At-Tawil - and once they have seen him, there is no turning back.
It is said that he does not lie, does not deceive, does not force, and yet all who follow his guidance are changed, forever unmade and reshaped into something beyond mortal understanding. Whether he is a guide to enlightenment or a shepherd leading lost souls into the void, none can say - for those who know the answer are no longer here to speak of it.
Xhamen-Dor
Seed of Corruption
Domain: Carcosa
Xhamen-Dor is not a being, not a god - it is an infection, an unstoppable corruption that twists flesh, warps thought, and consumes entire worlds. It begins as a whisper in the back of the mind, a strange symbol that lingers in one’s vision, a sickness that rots not the body, but the soul itself.
Where it takes root, reality itself begins to decay. Structures twist into organic nightmares, the laws of nature dissolve, and all who fall to its influence become part of its grand, blooming mass of corrupted existence.
Its cultists do not recruit - they spread. They infect. They bring the seed of Xhamen-Dor into the hearts of others, watching as their victims slowly cease to be themselves, their bodies and minds consumed by the ever-growing blight.
There is no escape from Xhamen-Dor. There is no bargaining, no appeasement. There is only surrender, and the slow, inescapable truth that all things will one day bloom into its perfect, all-consuming design.
Starwardens
The Starwardens are the enigmatic and beautiful demigods who serve Desna - The Song of the Spheres. They are not angels nor ascended mortals, but celestial beings born from the raw starlight and cosmic dust of the Astral Plane. They are the echoes of Desna's song, the vigilant guardians of the night sky, the guides for lost travelers, and the silent watchers of dreams.

Psychopomp Lords
The Psychopomp Lords are divine entities tasked with guiding mortal souls to the Boneyard, where the final judgment of the dead is carried out. While all psychopomps serve Pharasma - the Lady of Graves, the Psychopomp Lords hold greater authority, each overseeing a specific aspect of death.
Azrael
Archpsychopomp of Pharasma
Domain: The Final Gate
Azrael stands at the highest rank among psychopomps, the right hand of Pharasma, and the executor of her will. Though he is rarely seen, his presence is felt in the trembling final moments before a soul is weighed. To see Azrael is to know that fate has already been decided.
Clad in robes of deep black, his form shifts between countless visages, representing the infinite faces of death. He does not judge, he does not warn - he only carries out Pharasma’s decree. Even the other Psychopomp Lords bow before his authority, for none can overrule the final word of the Archpsychopomp.
Geras
The Senior Psychopomp
Domain: Old Age
Geras walks slowly and deliberately, his presence a comfort to some and a terror to others. He does not strike down the living - rather, he waits. He is the keeper of time, the silent witness to the slow march toward the inevitable.
To those who have lived full lives, he is a friend, a gentle hand to guide them into the next existence. To those who fear the end, he is a shadow looming ever closer, an inevitability that cannot be ignored. His steps echo in the minds of the aged, growing louder with each passing day.
Moros
Doom Incarnate
Domain: Doom
Moros is the harbinger of unavoidable fate, the whisper that precedes disaster. He is neither kind nor cruel, for his duty is not to kill, but to remind - to warn that some ends cannot be escaped, some fates are carved in stone.
He is present in prophetic visions, in the final glance before the fall, in the moment before the blade descends. When Moros appears before a mortal, it is not to bargain, nor to offer salvation - it is to watch as fate unfolds, as it always has and always will.
Oizys
Angel of Torment
Domain: Misery
Oizys is the shadow that clings to suffering, the presence felt in grief, despair, and endless sorrow. She does not inflict pain, but rather guides those who suffer to their final end, ensuring that no agony is left unresolved.
She walks among the hopeless, her form shifting to match the fears of those she approaches. Her touch is cold but comforting, a reminder that even in the darkest torment, there is an end. Those who refuse to let go, who cling to their suffering beyond death, find themselves unable to escape her grasp.
Thanatos
Angel of Death
Domain: Death
Thanatos is the shadow behind every executioner’s blade, the silence after the last breath. He is not fate, nor judgment - he is the act itself. His presence is felt in battlefields, sickbeds, and all places where life fades away.
Thanatos does not speak, nor does he offer comfort. He is the moment when the body grows cold, when the soul is severed from the flesh. He is the stillness before the journey begins, the passage into what comes next, whatever that may be.
Nemesis
Bringer of Retribution
Domain: Vengeance and Retribution
Nemesis is the executioner of debts unpaid, the red right hand that ensures that no crime goes unanswered. She is not justice - she is judgment. Where gods may offer redemption, Nemesis brings only the consequence of past sins.
She does not pursue out of cruelty, nor does she revel in suffering. She is the force that ensures that every act is repaid in kind. When she appears, it is not to pass sentence - the sentence was already written, long before she arrived.
To those who have earned her gaze, there is no escape, no plea for mercy - only the weight of what they have done, and the price they must now pay.
